US Haul- Ulta Beauty

Hey,

It's been too long since my last post. But I went to Vegas and went shopping of course. I had to hit up an Ulta Beauty store since we don't have them in Canada. I was really excited to try some brands that aren't available in stores here. One I was looking forward to was Mally. Unfortunately I went to one of the few Ulta stores that didn't carry Mally. It was a bit of a nightmare getting the cab to the store (he had no clue where he was going!) so there was no way we were going to the other location. Anyway here is what I got.

The NYX butt "naked" turn the other cheek palette. Mostly neutral eyeshadow shades and shimmery blushes, bronzers and highlighters. There's a lot of shimmer in it. I haven't used it too much just yet. I had heard of the butt naked palette on youtube so I snatched up this version. If anyone wants swatches just let me know.

I just love Real Techniques brushes! Awesome quality for the price. There are only a couple of sets available at Canadian Walmart though so I got these. On the left is the limited edition dual fibre set. It has a powder brush, contour brush and eyeshadow blending brush. I've used them a bit and really like them so far. The brush on the right is their expert face brush. I had heard so many people rave about it on YouTube. I just had to have it! It is great for buffing in liquid foundations. It gives a nice finish.

This is all the hair product I got. On the top is just a little pack of the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. I've also heard loads of you tubers talk about how amazing Macadamia products are. So I got this to try. I am already in love with my current masque.
On the left are the Not Your Mother's products. I'd never tried this brand before but missglamorazzi on YouTube uses the Knotty To Nice so I of course bought it. It's a nice detangler and smells so good. I can't even explain the scent but its good. Beach Babe is a nice non drying texturizing spray that smells of coconut. Sooooooo yummy!
Next is It's A 10 leave in plus keratin. Another missglamorazzi fave! I love her channel. I haven't tried it yet though.
The products on the right are the Deva Curl trial set. It has all the products that they recommend to use together and if you spent so much you got a free curl revitalize spray. I think I will try them in summer. I have curly hair but its not a nice curl. So these may help. They're all sulfate, silicone and paraben free.

I warned you I had bought a lot haha.
On the top are two sets of Katy Perry for eylure lashes. I wore the ones on the right, purple color pop, out one night in Vegas. The glue included didn't irritate my eyes and they were fairly easy to apply and looked good. I have yet to try the Oh Honey set.
On the right is the Go Smile on the go whitening pen. I haven't used it yet. I've been wanting a pen format for whitening though.
Bottom left is actually a back up purchase. I got the waterproof version of Maybellines Lash Discovery mascara. It came highly recommended by Emily on beautybroadcast (YouTube and www.beautybroadcast.net ) she uses it for bottom lashes and I must say it works great on them! The brush is nice and small and you can't find it anywhere in Canada.
Next on the bottom is the Lorac lustre drops. Still need to try them. But for anyone that doesn't know you can apply a drop alone (on lids or cheeks) or on top of eyeshadow to give it a different look. It's beautiful!
Ok so the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer. I can't really say too much about it yet. Mine was completely empty when I opened it up :( it was totally sealed too. I was gutted. I emailed the It Cosmetics customer service and they were amazing!! They asked for a copy of the receipt and my shade and the batch number (so they can correct future batch issues) and are sending me a new one straight away! No fuss. Love them. This concealer was highly praised by Melissa on melmphs on YouTube.
Lastly I got this set of three benefit lipsticks as a package called lip lotto. They had three sets to choose from. Only $15 I think for them. Such a great deal. These are the old formula.  I have a pic of the swatches below with the names of the shades.

So that is my crazy big Ulta haul. Hope you enjoyed it! I will have my Vegas Walgreens haul up soon. Don't worry though it is much smaller. As always if anyone would like a more in depth review please comment below.

Have a beauty-full day!

P.S. I am on Christmas vacation and there's a storm outside. Great time to work on a blog.

Skin cream review

Hey,

First off I must apologize for my lack of posts lately. I was away on a work trip but now I'm back. I am goin to Las Vegas for a week in a few days though so I will be absent again. I know I am going to be making quite a few purchases while I am there so perhaps a haul post or two is in order?!
I am very excited about being able to shop at an Ulta! We don't have them up here in Canada so if anyone has suggestions for things I must buy at Ulta please post in the comments :)

Well lets get on with it shall we? This is a skin cream that was recommended to me by my dermatologist years ago and I was using it for a while. For some reason I stopped and moved on to different things. While I was away though my skin was feeling very dry. The weather was cold and windy and I had run out of my trusty Activ MD cream (my derms own line) so I went to Shoppers Drug Mart in search of Impruv.

Ok Impruv is probably not a cream a lot of you have heard of but, trust me its great! It absorbs on the skin without feeling greasy and a little goes a long way. One small squeeze works for the whole face and neck (about a dime size). You can use it all over the body too if you'd like. It's inexpensive at about $12.99 for the 75ml size. It is fantastic for those with sensitive skin! I have had very oily skin as well and although I wouldn't recommend it in summer it won't make your face slick. I use it in the morning after my serums and before my SPF, as well as at night after my vitamin A gel.

As for where to buy this I found mine at Shoppers but I have seen it at some WalMart stores and online. It's usually with the lotions that are more on the sensitive skin side. Near the cetaphils and ceraves, etc.

Here is a picture of the back so that you ingredient curious folks can take a read:(I hope you can read it)

Give it a try!

Recently I've been going crazy for all the holiday sets that are coming out! The holidays are the best/worst for makeup lovers LOL. So far I've bought the Urban Decay Vice 2, Anarchy face case and Ocho Loco 2.I just love UD! I've also bought the Too Faced A Few Of My Favorite Things set. At first look I didn't see the big fuss but when I went back to Sephora and re swatched it I needed it in my life!!
If you'd like to see an in depth review of any leave me a comment.

Have a Beauty-Full day,

My Oct Ipsy Glam Bag arrived!

Hi!

I am an Ipsy Glam Bag subscriber. If you don't know what that means then head on over to Ipsy and see what it's all about!

I will give you the short and sweet (or quick and dirty) version of it though. It's a monthly subscription that will send you 5 items a month, all beauty related, based on your answers to their quiz. Some items are deluxe samples and others are full sized.

Here is what I got this month:

1. Buxom Lip Polish in the shade Dolly. I have never owned any Buxom products before. I cannot stand the Bare Minerals from Bare Escentuals so I am hoping that this lip gloss is good. It's a plumping type gloss. It is 2ml, I am not sure if that is the brands full size. I like the colour. I swatched it a little bit.

2. Zoya nail polish in the shade Mason. If you aren't familiar with the brand they have a "BIG5FREE" formula. This means they are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate and camphor. So no super harmful chemicals in these polishes! I have one of these already and it's just a great polish to use. Nice and opaque. I am excited about this shade. It's a beautiful jewel toned purple. Great for fall! Oh and it's full sized.

3. Be Delectable from cake beauty ultra hand nourishing hand cream. The scent is strawberry and cream. I have had lotions from cake beauty before. I think that this is their slightly cheaper brand. I have seen it at Target. At 60ml I think it's a full size.

4. H2O+ face OASIS Hydrating Treatment. It also says its oil-free marine hydration. I have never heard of this brand before. I am actually not really all that into trying out facial skin are at the moment. I think I have a pretty good routine going on right now. But because I have this deluxe sized sample I guess I can give it a go. Honestly, if it doesn't really seem to do anything great it won't be staying for more than a day or two. It's a gel like consistency. It is 10ml.

5. bigsexyhair Blow dry volumizing gel. I will admit that I wouldn't go out and purchase a volumizing gel on my own but the deluxe samples I have received in the past of bigsexyhair products (from Ipsy) have all been hits! So I am very curious about this one. It's 50ml, which is big when it comes to pro hair product.

Every month they send all your goodies in a small, cute, themed makeup bag.

So simple this month, yet adorable.

I hope that this a good look at what you get in the glam bag. If anyone wants a review on any of these just say so :)
I apologize if some of the pictures aren't the best, I took them quickly so that I had something to show.

Have a beauty-full day!

Let's try this blog thing

Hi.
I spend so much time reading other beauty blogs, researching products, and watching YouTube channels that I figured its about time I at least start my own blog.
I am going to try and put up some reviews, answer questions, etc.

So I guess that I should let you all know a little about me "beauty addict" wise. I did take a college course in professional makeup application and worked at a beauty boutique. So I have definitely applied makeup on people other than me :) I have more makeup in my collection than any sane person requires. But I will still buy more!

I've loved makeup ever since I was a little girl. I would watch my mom put it on when she would get ready to go out. My grandmother gave me my first tube of lipstick, one that was hers, when I was around three years old. I blame her for planting the seed LOL.

Although makeup is my first beauty related love I am also very into skin care. I take very good care of my skin and will always do my research when it comes to different brands and products. I loved recommending and talking skin care when I worked at the boutique.

Even though I can't wear nail polish five days out of the week, I have quite a collection. It started when I was 12 or 13. I love wearing all kinds of colours and trying different kits (when I have the time).

So there you have it. Expect to see all types of beauty content in this blog. I can't wait to get started!

xoxo,

Crissy

P.S.  Please bear with me as I try to figure everything out :)
